YEA visits former President Kufuor

A delegation which included some ambassadors of the Youth Employment Agency explained the Job Centre Project, Artisan Directory and Regional Flagship programs to the former president.

The Job Centre is a platform (online and physical) to link job seekers to employers. It has Walk-In Centres and Training Hubs to attend to all human resource needs of users.

The Artisan Directory will focus on training Artisans in various fields and offer them capital to start up their own businesses. Beneficiaries will be certified and placed in a database to ensure easy client access, sustenance and growth of their businesses.

The delegation also explained the Agency's Regional and District Flagship Project which is designed to create jobs for the Youth within their various communities mostly through Agriculture with funding support from the Agency.

Management was optimistic that the rolling out of these innovative programs will help curb the high unemployment canker in the country and also mitigate the challenge of unemployment recycling.

His Excellency John Agyekum Kufour under whose tenure the Agency was inaugurated, was extremely elated about how the Agency has evolved to become a means of developing the Youth of Ghana. He commended Management for the new initiatives and offered good counsel on implementation of the programs.

He charged Management and Ambassadors to lead the charge of orienting the Youth to take entrepreneurship and apprenticeship seriously, and understand the dynamics of the economic world to empower them excel in their careers. The former President was of the view that Ghana is accessible and well positioned to be the entrepreneurial hub for West Africa hence, the need for the youth to work zealously to attract potential investors. He called on Government, Private and Public Institutions to help empower the Youth.

He finally endorsed the new programs by the Youth Employment Agency and charged them to deliver as projected.

The delegation from the Agency comprised of the Chief Executive Officer Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations), Alhaji Bashiru Ibrahim, Deputy CEO (Finance and Admin), Ms Lydia Atiemo and other Management members.
YEA Ambassadors including veteran Actress Jackie Appiah, Musician Wendy Shay, Actress Bibi Bright, Actress Emelia Brobbey, and CEO of MakeUp Ghana Rebecca Donkor were also part of the team that visited the former President.
