YEA Arms 3,000 Youth with Skills and Startup Capital

Alhaji Bashiru Ibrahim, the deputy chief executive of YEA in charge of operation in an interview with the Press at the Closing Ceremony and Passing Out of trainees at Black Star Square  in Accra on Friday October 4, 2024, stated, we’ve been here for the past 14 days. It is a job fair that has been jointly organised by the youth employment agency and the I Report. The rationale behind this job fair was to create an opportunity for young people in this country to realize their potential and also to facilitate the acquisition of jobs for young people. 

At the end of the 14-day we have had about 2356 people who have acquired skills in various areas. Trade areas in manicure, pedicure, food processing, CCTV installation and others all of that in the temperate areas of exciting opportunities in the coming days, be able to also trained people at their respective areas, to enhance value chain.

we are living within the confines of our mandate is to help young people to acquire job opportunities in this country. For the past 14 days, the security agencies has also here been here to recruit; Ghana National fire service, Ghana immigration service the Ghana prison service, custom service and preventive service.

 

1,000 Ghana cedis will be given to all trainees as stipends and other valuable equipment to start working with. Is formidable for me and  life-changing. Young people should take this opportunity seriously because we have help you an to acquire some basic skills to be able to  propel you in the job market. They should be Ambassadors and appreciate what has be given here.

I have stated time without number that the issues of unemployment has no political colour because it affects everybody regardless of your political affiliation. 

When you have the opportunity to create job opportunity for the young people of this country, then you have to make it so open so reliable that  allows all to come on board. We have taken  their bio-data to be able to monitor them and see the problem where we need to even help some of them to establish we will do so if we are convinced beyond reasonable doubt that you are doing well, he emphasized. We are hoping to equally do a similar job fair this time now in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

The ceremony brought many dignitaries, such as, minister of Employment and Labour Relation, the CEO of TVET, National Entrepreneurship And Innovation Program, Ghana Enterprise Agency. 

The Ghana Report Jobs & Entrepreneurship Fair 2024 is an innovative and impactful initiative aimed at addressing the unemployment challenge in Ghana by connecting job seekers with employers and fostering entrepreneurship. Scheduled to take place from Thursday, 19th September to Saturday, 5th October 2024 at Independence Square and the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), this event brings together stakeholders from various sectors to provide employment opportunities and drive economic growth.
