Today, I proudly handed over industrial sewing machines to the Western Regional YEA. These tools symbolise more than just equipment - they represent opportunity, growth, and a brighter future for our youth who have successfully completed their training in the dressmaking industry.
At a press conference, I highlighted the incredible strides YEA has made in the Western Region. Here’s the impact so far:
- 949 Community Protection Assistants recruited
- 379 Community Health Workers deployed
- 94 Prison Office Assistants engaged
- 151 Kitchen Assistants placed in senior high schools
- 150 Security Assistants supporting our institutions
- 83 Community Teaching Assistants transforming education
- 63 Dressmaking trainees empowered
- 652 Artisanal skills trainees equipped
Through the Business & Employment Assistance Programme (BEAP):
- 183 beneficiaries are now thriving in micro-businesses.
-
- 89 businesses received BEAP support (Zaima Enterprise, Dehome City, Regimez Ventures, AT Boat Enterprise, Trust Standard Preparatory School, Benzima Ventures, etc.)
- 21 garment companies supported with GHS 18,570 each (EyKlodin, GT Fashion & More, Lanyo’s Design, Kasam Kreations, Grace De-Fine Style, Tiokor Fashion House, etc.)
This is just the beginning! We are committed to doing even more to uplift and empower the youth in the Western Region and beyond. Together, we’re building skills, creating jobs, and changing lives.
