First batch of YEA CPA module beneficiaries graduate

Five hundred and twenty seven community policing assistants (CPAs) have passed out after a five week training programme at the Police training school in Accra. The programme is collaboration between the Ghana Police Service and the Youth Employment Agency aimed at complimenting the efforts of the police in enhancing safety and security at the community level.

Apart from working as traffic wardens, the CPAs will work closely with the MMDAs on their community improvement projects.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Regional Minister, Hon. Laryea Afotey Agbo urged the CPAs to use the knowledge and skills acquired to improve their communities. He said, security was a matter of concern to the government and it was necessary to recruit the youth to compliment the efforts of the police service to ensure sanity in the community.
The Regional Minister stressed the need for the CPAs to work as agents of change and educate their peers to desist from social vices.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency Mr. Kobina Beechem said, YEA sought to work with other institutions from the public and private sectors to create jobs for the Youth.
The Five hundred and twenty seven CPAs have already been posted to the western and greater Accra regions.

YEA is a Government Agency setup by law to provide jobs and create employment opportunities for the youth of Ghana
