The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) on Wednesday 16th August 2023, launched the YEA Community Health Workers (CHWs) Module maiden Exit Plan at Koforidua in the Eastern region with an announcement of vacancies for two thousand (2000) out of the six thousand (6000) CHWs Beneficiaries in the various Health Training institutions for the next academic year.
These 2000 beneficiaries are the first batch to be offered this rare privilege to enroll in the various health training institutions while the remaining will wait for their turn in the next enrolment exercise.
This incentive package was a fulfillment of an agreement contained in the Memorandum of Understanding between YEA and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and assurance given the beneficiaries during their graduation and passing-out last year for those willing to pursue a career path in the mainstream health sector,
The Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Operations YEA, Alhaji Bashiru Ibrahim who represented the Chief Executive Officer, noted that the Comprehensive Exit Strategy offers the module beneficiaries the option of receiving top-up training in some selected health Training Institutions in the country.
He said the aim is to transition the beneficiaries into any of the health training pathways to have the opportunity to further their education in areas such as General Nursing, Midwifery, Disease Control, Health Information and Health Promotion among others.
